Wings Of Inspiration

Wings of Inspiration supports charitable organizations by sponsoring, organizing and conducting volunteer programs and community service projects locally and globally. We encourage the family and community participation in creative service activities to initiate a ripple effect, one at a time, of spreading truth around the world through love and awareness.
Projects from an Open Heart
Get inspired by some of our inspirational projects that have been possible by the involvement of family, friends, spiritual communities and co-workers. They have contributed to the unfolding of my vision of "In Oneness, become instruments of Spiritual, Personal, and Social well-being around the world."

11th Annual Suncoast Hospice

Beach Stroll, April 16, 2011
Palm Pavilion
Clearwater, Florida

This year my hubby, granddaughter Kyleigh (6) and I walked Clearwater beach for a third year to support this great organization. We walked in honor of my "Mami", brother "Carlos" and granddaughter "Izabella" (Kyleigh's sister), we missed them but they will forever live in our hearts.

What's Mari up to for Spiritual enrichment?

Mari has joined the Good Start = Good Life program for Kimberly Home as a Bilingual "Personal Pregnancy & Childbirth Companion", working mostly with Teens and the Hispanic community of Pinellas. Kimberly Home is a non-profit, non-denominational pregnancy resource center that offers assistance to women in unplanned or troubling pregnancies. This is a very rewarding opportunity where she gets to work one-on-one with women and their babies providing guidance during and after their pregnacies, the program extends until their babies are six months old. Kimberly also provides counseling, material assistance, infant and toddler daycare, and transitional housing as well as referrals to resources throughout the community and an amazing adoption program.

Inspired by her work with pregnant women Mari became a Certified Labor Doula in other words "Mothering the Mother", she will be empowering women to have a memorable and sacred childbirth experience that will be cherished for the rest of their lives. Mari believes that birth can be a natural process; women know their bodies and inherently, how to give birth to ther babies. She also believes women who become knowledgeable and educated about birth are able to make better, informed decisions for themselves and their babies. She is very excited to being able to incorporate this service to her current work with Kimberly Home.

Mari continues her volunteer work with Suncoast Hospice as a spokesperson on their behalf. Currently she is a Bilingual Perinatal Loss Doula (PLD) and member of the Stepping Stones Hospice team. As Perinatal Loss Doulas they attend births where the babies are expected to be stillborn or do not long survive; and provide the parents and family support to all the physical, mental, spiritual and material needs. They then go the extra steps to help grieving families begin the journey towards acceptance, grief and healing.

After the birth they are able to gather mementos to honor the baby and provide for cherished memories in the future. For example, there is a multitude of clothing and blankets, handmade by Hospice volunteers, to dress the baby, as well as foot and/or handprints and molds of the newborns to preserve their precious first moments. Moms and family members are also encouraged to see and hold the baby if that is their desire and to take pictures. Provided in these services is information on local funeral homes, Hospice services and Hospice support group meetings, and other support assistance services available online and locally in our community.

She identifies with this incredible organization because she has been touched during times of grief and loss by the compassion, warmth and loving services provided by ALL the Hospice people. I knew the depth of giving with an open heart by being a volunteer, then as a recipient of their services I experienced the power of receiving unconditional love, which goes hand in hand with the mission of Wings of Inspiration.
